Women in Science volunteer and board member Lisa Gilbert-Hill has been named Scientist of the Month by the Association of Women in Science. Lisa has been involved with Project Exploration, teaching forensics to Sisters4Science, since 2007.
Executive Director Gabrielle Lyon is helping to organize (Re)framing Education for Democracy and Liberationto be held in Chicago on April 29. The conference is open to all educators, activists, artists, organizers, and advocates interested in actively examining the current education landscape, re-imagining and redefining local and national discussions, and mapping an action agenda for implementation. Registration is free.

Today, Gabrielle Lyon is participating as a featured panelist in STEMSmart : Lessons learned from Successful Schools, at UIC. This workshop is part of a conference hosted by the National Science Foundation to highlight issues in the recent National Resource Council report, Successful K-12 STEM Education.
