| This week-long camp offers high-school girls a unique opportunity to explore sophisticated mathematics in an all-girl environment. Campers attend a class in codes three hours every morning, where they learn basic number theory and applications to cryptography. In the afternoon, they attend mini-courses in other mathematical applications, such as Aerodynamics. Students spend a week on campus in the dorms and eat meals in the cafeteria. |
| Eligibility Requirements: Girls entering grades 10 through 12 are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to girls that have successfully completed one year of high-school geometry. |

| Camp GEMS is an engineering, mathematics and science camp designed to develop interest, excitement and self-confidence in young women entering grade 7 or 8. It's a four-day-long residential camp, featuring hand-on activities in math, science and computers. A ratio of eight students per teacher is emphasized to encourage interaction and instruction. Housing and meals are included. |

| GEMS Camp (Girls Experiencing Mathematics in the Summer) |

| GEMS is a an intensive mathematics residential program. The week-long session includes two enrichment mini-courses introducing mathematics not commonly seen in high-school, as well as presentations on topics such as cryptography; financial mathematics and actuarial science; and mathematics and art. The program also offers panel discussions with female mathematicians working at research and teaching institutions, and recreational time and field trips. Participants will stay in the UST residence hall, accompanied by female student counselors. |

| This camp provides academically talented middle-school girls with an opportunity to explore math, engineering and science through classroom presentations, hands-on activities and contact with women in technical fields. Three programs are offered: Structures: explores structural engineering, a field that focuses on the design and construction of buildings, bridges, aircraft, etc. Computer Science: examines computer technology by exploring graphics, interactive animations, and the launch of a web site. Bioengineering/ Chemical Engineering: examines how chemical engineering and bioengineering team together to cure diseases, provide alternate sources of energy and help in developing countries. |

| Girls on Ice is an eleven-day leadership program that combines mountaineering and science. On the Eastern Glacier on the southern side of Mount Baker, girls will hike, carry their own equipment and camp in the mountains. The curriculum focuses on gathering glacial data in the field using scientific techniques and outdoor skills. |
| Eligibility Requirements: All girls ages 15 to 18 that have shown a keen interest in science and the outdoors and are in good physical condition are welcome to apply. |

| Harlaxton OPTIONS |

| OPTIONS is a residential camp for high-school freshman, sophomores or juniors (or the home-schooled equivalent) with good math and science skills who have completed geometry. It offers young women the chance to consider career options in engineering or computer science. This is a two-stage program; the OPTIONS 2008 program will be held at the University of Evansville, in Grantham, England. The OPTIONS 2009 session will be held on the Evansville campus. Those attending last year's Evansville program will be assigned first priority in this year's overseas program. Remaining available spots will be filled with new applicants. |

| This week-long residential camp for girls entering grades 7 and 8 focuses on energy from a multidisciplinary approach. The curriculum, administered by Jewell professors and current students, is centered upon lab-based independent inquiry. Participants engage in activities that span a range of disciplines (biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science) and develop leadership and team-building skills. Evening activities range from astronomy and bioart to scientific scavenger hunts and talent shows. The camp culminates in a science fair, where students give demonstrations and presentations to their family and friends. |
| Eligibility Requirements: Students entering grades 7 and 8 are welcome to apply. The selection is competitive and merit-based. Applications from students underrepresented in the sciences are particularly encouraged. |
