As spring continues to blossom into full bloom, we wanted to share some highlights from our Spring Break Camp at the STEM Learning Center at Bethel New Life, which took place from April 3-7, 2023.

The theme of this year’s Spring Break Camp was “Jumping into Spring,” and that we most certainly did…with frogs. Our young scientists, otherwise known as “Explorers,” dove headfirst into exploring the world of these fascinating creatures. Throughout the week, campers engaged in a variety of engineering challenges, including building objects with everyday materials like paper and popsicle sticks. They also learned about the science of frog habitats and their unique adaptations to their environments.

In addition to classroom lessons and hands-on projects, our Explorers also had the opportunity to dissect frog specimens and explore their anatomy. It was a thrilling and memorable experience that sparked curiosity and excitement in our young scientists.

But the fun didn’t stop there! On the final day of camp, we took our Explorers to an indoor amusement park for an afternoon of exhilarating rides, games, and treats. It was the perfect end to an already amazing week, and we were thrilled to see the joy and camaraderie among our campers as they celebrated their newfound knowledge and skills.

Throughout the week, the Explorers also worked on creating their own frog specimens, complete with details like eyes, limbs, and unique colorations. It was a challenging and rewarding task that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.

At the STEM Learning Center, we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. We believe in creating an engaging and nurturing learning environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and fun. And our Spring Break Camp was a perfect example of our commitment to providing exceptional STEM education experiences to our community.

We want to express our gratitude to all the Explorers, parents, and staff who made this week possible. We especially want to thank our partners, iCares and Lincoln Park Zoo, for deepening our reach and providing further enrichment of the activities that were offered during Spring Break Camp. We were inspired by the energy, enthusiasm, and creativity that our campers brought to every activity, and we can’t wait to see what amazing things they will accomplish in the future.

Thank you for being a part of the Project Exploration Family STEM Learning Center community, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
