Project Exploration gives young people opportunities to explore STEM through hands-on programs, caring mentors, career exposure, and experiences designed to help them discover what is possible.

We follow up
A member of the Project Exploration team will review your information and contact you about available programs and next steps.
Complete intake
Once a program placement is confirmed, we will send the required registration, consent, and intake paperwork directly to you.

Located at Frederick Douglass Academy High School and serving youth through STEM programming, career exploration, and hands-on learning.

PE programs help students explore STEM through building, experimenting, collaboration, problem-solving, and exposure to careers and experiences they may not otherwise encounter.
Program offerings vary by location and season, but every experience is designed to help young people build confidence, curiosity, skills, and connections.

Grow With Project Exploration
Our program pathways give students opportunities to explore STEM from their earliest school years through high school.
Grades K–2
Building Block Club
Young learners explore science, engineering, technology, and the world around them through hands-on building, experimentation, questioning, creativity, and discovery.
Grades 3–5
LittleBrothers4Science
Students explore STEM through hands-on projects that build confidence, teamwork, curiosity, and problem-solving while introducing them to STEM careers and role models.
Grades 3–5
LittleSisters4Science
Girls engage in hands-on STEM learning designed to build confidence, curiosity, leadership, collaboration, and early exposure to women working across STEM fields.
Grades 6–8
Brothers4Science
Middle school boys explore STEM through project-based learning, career exposure, teamwork, and opportunities to strengthen problem-solving and leadership skills.
Grades 6–8
Sisters4Science
Middle school girls explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning, leadership development, collaboration, and exposure to women working in STEM careers.
High School
Explore Engineering
High school students explore engineering through hands-on design, building, testing, problem-solving, and exposure to real-world STEM applications and careers.

PE also works directly with partner schools to offer programming designed around the students, grade levels, and opportunities available at each site.
Grades K–2
Catalyst Circle Rock
Students explore AI and Minecraft through age-appropriate technology, creativity, building, and digital problem-solving experiences.
High School
Douglass STEM Learning Center — Ten80
Students explore engineering, design, performance, and problem-solving through hands-on racing and engineering challenges using Ten80.
Grades 1–2
It Takes a Village
Students participate in hands-on STEM experiences designed for early elementary learners.
Grades 3–5 + 6–8
Donoghue — STEM Quest
Students participate in STEM Quest, a hands-on experience designed to strengthen curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, and exposure to STEM concepts and careers.
