The Challenge

An invention is anything new or an improvement to something that already exists. Inventions can be an object, a machine, a process, or even a game. Inventors are those who come up with new ideas and use the invention process to make their ideas real. What will you invent?

Watch this video to learn about some of the most famous inventions and inventors in history.

What is an invention, and why are they everywhere you go? What will you invent?

Problem and Solutions

Let’s Experiment and Build!

Instructions

  1. Think about your favorite games that you play. What are the rules? What items do you need to play the game? How many people can play?
  2. Start planning your game. It can be a completely new game where you make up all the rules. Or you can add new rules to a game that already exists to change it.
  3. You can write down your game ideas and rules on a piece of paper. Inventors always record their ideas because you never know which ideas will be the best.
  4. Share your game ideas with your friends and family! Have them try your game.
  5. Is the game you invented fun? Are the rules easy to understand? What is something that you can change about your game to make it even better?
