STEMbus – Enabling PE to Engage Chicago’s Hardest to Reach Youth
Project Exploration (PE) creates transformative STEM learning opportunities for youth underrepresented in the sciences –particularly students of color and girls — by reducing or removing barriers to STEM education and career possibilities.
STEMbus outreach events enable PE to reach new students in local, predominantly black and Latino communities who may not otherwise know about opportunities in STEM and with PE. Fun, hands-on activities and giveaways are provided right in the neighborhoods where young people live opening up a new world of opportunities.

Project Exploration embarks on a STEM Achievement Tour to celebrate the hard work of our young people throughout this past school year! PE students will receive their certificates of recognition, while graduates receive their white coats commemorating their program achievements. At the same time, we will be meeting new families to enroll young people in summer programs and ensuring they completed the 2020 Census. Sponsored by Counting on Chicago Coalition.
