Summer of Science is HERE!
During the eight week camp, students have had the opportunity to dissect frogs and sharks, program robots, build wind chimes and ArtBots, build a water pump designed for use on Mars, and learn all about the mechanics that go into building a race car.
STEM Signing Day 2018
Chicago Public School High School Graduates Pursuing a STEM Related Degree or Program Participate in Inaugural STEM Signing Day 2018. Signing days traditionally have been opportunities to celebrate athletes, but this year high school seniors from across our city will be celebrated as they make their commitment to attend either a two or four-year college or university and pursue a STEM degree or program. These students will be recognized for applying their talents in pursuit of careers in STEM fields by Boeing, Motorola Solutions Foundation, and the Mayor’s Office.

Project Exploration Kicking Off Summer Programs!
Project Exploration works to ensure STEM summer programs are hands-on, rigorous, and fun! We aim to foster natural curiosity and inquiry, so participants begin to design their questions and problems, in addition to solutions.

Project Exploration Wins 2018 STEM Coalition Challenge
Project Exploration was selected from 92 applications from 82 communities across 35 states, representing more than 1,800 nonprofits, companies, school districts, and local government partners. Project Exploration (PE) is honored to have been selected as a finalist in the US2020 Challenge.
Project Exploration Continues to Provide Student an Opportunity to Showcase Their Work
At the end of the Spring semester, Project Exploration has an event called Reflection of Knowledge. Reflection of Knowledge is a way that the students in our Sisters4Science and Brothers4Science programs to be recognized and given the opportunity to lead scientific presentations to family, friends, and corporate guests.
Project SYSTEMIC launches with Austin STEM Leadership Board Meeting
On April 13, 2018, Project Exploration kicked off its NSF-funded award, Project SYSTEMIC, by convening the Austin STEM Leadership Board. Our inaugural meeting took place at the new West Side STEM Learning Center, located in the George Leland Elementary School annex building.
