Science Digests Days Relaunched! (Family Engagement + Science Fun!)
Project Exploration is pleased to announce the relaunching of our Science Digest program! In partnership with Chicago Youth Centers and through funding from the Hive Fund for Connected Learning and the Chicago Community Trust, we will be expanding on this original PE program!
Science Digest originally emerged as a monthly program to engage Project Exploration students and alumni in exploring a wide range of STEM disciplines, while working alongside STEM professionals.
Project Exploration and Chicago Youth Centers join forces, bringing STEM learning opportunities!
Through the Hive Chicago, Project Exploration and Chicago Youth Centers worked to identify an opportunity to partner and build STEM access. Project Exploration strives to ensure every Chicago student becomes STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) literate, promotes a diversified STEM workforce in Chicago and works to mitigate the poverty that pervades Chicago’s STEM deserts.
Meet Adrian Villareal, STEM Facilitator for Brothers4Science!
Adrian Villareal plans on finding out what the boys are interested in learning about and helping them explore various STEM topics. I know that the students will bring a lot to the program everyday and help make me a better person in the future.
Project Exploration meets Woods Educational Enrichment Foundation!
Project Exploration (PE) is dedicated to building high-quality STEM Education Programs through effective and collaborative partnerships. We are pleased to start a new partnership with the Woods Educational Enrichment Foundation (WEEF). With a similar vision WEEF aims to eliminate the barriers placed on career opportunities for minorities in the STEM fields.

All Girls Expedition 2.0 was relaunched and we are pleased to continue to build opportunities. AGE 2.0 is a weekend camping trip to Camp Sullivan a Forest Preserves of Cook County’s campground in Oak Forest, IL.

Kelsey Galante is Project Exploration’s newest team member. She has jumped in and gotten involved in various Project Exploration’s with an emphasis in coordinating Science Giants and a new project in the Austin community, more to come!

Project Exploration and the Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative (STEM Co-op) are featured in a recent article by STEM Ready America, a compendium that highlights best practices and success stories from across the country demonstrating the critical role of out-of-school time STEM programs in fostering work readiness skills for today’s jobs.
